Social Issue Game

Darfur is dying is what I played.  The issue that this game explores is the fact that different Darfur camps are being stalked by militia. They are also having trouble trying to fight off hunger and sickness. It did a great job of exploring this social issue. It was a well developed game, very thought out and prepared. This game was very fun and I could play it for several hours. It just had so much to explore and had a lot of fun aspects to the game. It is a very creative game.

In my community there isn't much poverty, I live in Teays Valley and it is pretty upscale. So there isn't much poverty here, the closest thing to poverty is in Huntington. Which is kinda a low income area. The Health in our are I think is pretty good, because we have several hospitals around the area. Also I think most people have health insurance and if they don't the hospital til takes them and puts it on the taxes. The environment is also in great condition. We are a great state with great green objectives, so this place is pretty environmental. The education is amazing in our community cause its free up to high school. After that college is pretty affordable compared to other states.

I am not totally sure yet what I want to focus my game on. I either want to do one about computers and what are the components of one. I also thought about doing something about the show LOST. I am not totally sure what I am going to do but hopefully in the next day or two I will. They should follow the hints that I will leave them. I want them to learn something that they haven't learn anywhere else, which they will want to keep playing to keep learning. But more details will come in the next day or two. I need to really think more about this game.

Review of Fix it with Food.

This game was ok....after playing it for a little bit, I wanted to quit. It just wasn't fun. First of all it took forever to get to the actual game. Now the graphics for the game were really cool and I liked them. Now the game just needed some great improvements put into it. It wasn't a really well thought out game. Its not something where somebody would want to keep playing it. The game had many problems, like when I would get any where near the couches it would make me restart. I guess I should explain the game. The idea of the game is you are a little person who tries to navigate the area to get to the vegetable that answers the question they are asking you, such as what vegetable makes your eyesight better. What you have to navigate through this land and avoid is moving couches and tv's. If you hit the couches or tv's it starts you over. When I would get near any of the objects and not even touch them it would restart the game. The actual game just didn't look good. It needed better design and a more game oriented look to it. Overall I did not like the game and it really needs a total restructuring. I would not play this game again.

Review of Free Rice

The game is played was the Free Rice game. Its a game where you are given a word and you are given 4 synonyms. From those synonyms you have to figure which is the synonym for the word. If you select the right word you get 20 grains of rice are donated to fight world hunger. There was also harder levels that you could choose from. It definitely was an easy game to learn how to play. I liked it and was addicted. It was hard though, some of the words were very difficult. The designer probably thought it was to make it super hard. Overall its a great idea for a learning game. The look of the game is very amazing and has many links to different websites that pertain to rice charities. This is a very good game, I would like to figure out how to make the background the cool thing that it was. Also I need to learn to do some flash programming. Some suggestions I would add would be a winning point, because you just kept going until you got bored with it. If you had a certain point when you got like better rice or you fed more nations with it. That would make it so much better. Overall I really enjoyed the game.
